IDENTIFYING THE WORD OF GOD

HOW TO IDENTIFY GOD'S WORD IN THE BIBLE
       - By Frank Ehinze

The Word of God is not the written words in the Bible, but the revelation behind the written words. This is why we don't read, but hear the Word of God,

"So then faith cometh by HEARING, and HEARING by the word of God."
       - Romans 10:17

Therefore, the Word of God is not what you read, but what you hear while you read.

However, I have said, the Word of God is the revelation behind the written words. When I say revelation, I mean finding Jesus in the written scripture. To reveal means to uncover, to bring to light, to unveil. So until Jesus is unveiled, it is not a revelation, and if not revelation, then not the Word of God.

However, when Jesus is not unveiled in a revelation, it is not a revelation but an inspiration. Let's look at this scripture:

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"
        - 2 Timothy 3:16

The things that are written in the scripture are not revelations of God, but inspirations of God, and the purpose for this inspiration is to search out the revelation. God's glory is to give you the scripture, and your glory is to search out the revelation from the scripture. See it here:

"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter."
        - Proverbs 25:2

You are the one this scripture above is talking about, for you are the king (Revelation 5:10). So you see, your glory is in searching scriptures to find out Jesus. This was why Jesus had to open the understanding of His disciples to the scripture, how that the scriptures were concerning Him (Jesus).. Luke 24:44-45

Moreover, let's see again how the Word of God is known. It is known by its purpose and result, for Jesus said in Matthew 7:20, "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." So then, what is this purpose and fruit of the Word of God? Jesus made it clear to us that the purpose of the Word of God is to save. See it:

"Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the WORD out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be SAVED."
         - Luke 8:12

Jesus was telling His disciples why the devil comes to steal the Word of God from men's heart, it is so that they don't believe and be saved. You can see that the Word of God is salvation brought to us. It means any message that does not save or that is not characterized with faith, is not the Word of God. The message that brings fear instead of faith in Christ Jesus is not the Word of God. When Christ is revealed, faith comes and is been stirred in the heart of men, and they are saved.

Therefore, the Word of God is the Gospel of Christ, and the Gospel is Good news. Hence, the Word of God that doesn't sound like good news is not the Word of God, but the scripture, and an inspiration. When I say the Gospel, I'm not talking about only the new testament. The gospel was preached right from the very beginning of the Bible to the end.

"For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it."
         - Hebrews 4:2

Unto the people of old was the gospel preached, but they didn't get saved by it because they didn't receive faith (Jesus), and they didn't receive faith because Jesus was still conceived and not revealed. The Gospel was however also preached in the old testament. The only difference is that some are able to seaech out Jesus from it, and some are yet to. So when Jesus is unvelied, then salvation comes. Therefore, read the Bible to know God's, read the Bible to find Jesus. The Word of God is simply the Gospel of Christ that saves.

                    PRAYER
Dear Jesus, I receive from you, an understanding to find you in all scripture, and to know your Word. Amen!
